J'ai eu la chance de le voir hier soir et j'ai aussi beaucoup aimé ! Par contre j'ai l'impression qu'il est assez mal vendu. Sur l'app UGC il est classé en horreur/SF/Thriller et pour moi c'est juste un Thriller. D'ailleurs des gens sont partis au bout de 20min visiblement déçus

Reading that as a French adds a funny & strange feeling. Brunette is a word only used to describe a woman with dark hair in a cute or sexy way. Seeing it used by a creepy, probably toxic guy seems weird!
And of course, his height has nothing to do with this and only in the NBA univers 5'11 is short

To present the fact that we don't want to work too much to have time for love affairs and philosophical debates feels a little bit offensive (as the strikes, August months etc). I think it is interesting that in 2025, the vision of France presented in the article is 60 years old.

As a French reader of The Atlantic, I was quite curious about the article, and to be honest, I am disappointed. It's very very cliché, I think it mostly represents the romanticised vision of an American. All the cultural references are from the 60s, the 35h week is wrong (it's much more complicated)

Peter Sean Brown, a Philly native, should have never been held on an ICE detainer by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office nor should he have faced deportation to Jamaica.

He Was Born in Philly and They Tried to Deport Him to Jamaica

A Florida sheriff ignored proof of Peter Sean Brown’s U.S. citizenship and held him for ICE anyway. A federal court just ruled it was a blatant violation of his Fourth Amendment rights.
