Mine are all the ones that I read and liked well enough, but they're not exactly "keepers", and I keep telling myself I should give them away to someone so they can get a nice read out of them too.....but they're still sitting there.

Often how a book is received is all about how the teacher presents it to students. Several of my male students said they really understood where Holden was coming from. He also repeatedly obsesses about "phoniness", which you could connect to AI while teaching. Lots of ways to have it work.

Sometimes the themes of a book are outdated and aren't ones currently relevant...but they're still useful since they offer a peek into the mindset of the generation that created it. Catcher in the Rye can also easily be framed as a story about a kid who feels like society has left him behind. 🧵

These guys always look like total ragamuffins. Not a single matching uniform - not even matching VESTS. They look like a wannabe militia that was told to get a camo vest from ebay, then printed their own patches.

It also helps if the stuff you're asking people to do is actually something that can help the kids without requiring you to sacrifice your nights and weekends for what is often just a performative mess.

This is STILL how I make it, minus tomatoes (ew). If you want it a bit creamier and less chunky, sub in ricotta for cottage cheese - same effect and flavor, but no larger chunks of cheese.

As an English teacher....all his random capitalization really bothers me.

Does he Really think that If he capitalizes Words with no grammatical Reason to Do So, that it will Make him look Smarter or more Capable? Nah - it Just makes him look Weird(er).
