For the 45th consecutive Christmas Santa Claus has failed to bring me a Kenner AT-AT as seen in The Empire Strikes Back. I'm starting to think I may never get it.

My dinner date turned 12 today. She had a zoo outing with her mom earlier and a special dinner gathering with friends last night. She spent the time in between doing some of her favorite things: writing, playing games, and opening presents. The smiles have been big.

Here's the last photo of Nell as an 11-year-old. Tomorrow she is 12. Middle school. Lots of changes. I couldn't be more proud. Every night since she was little Nell and I have had a "com." (Way back she thought the word was "comversation," and the term has stuck). 1/2

I was SO happy to have FIVE new kids sign up for guitar lessons this summer/fall. They've all been really wonderful to work with. Audrey, a fourth grader, included this message with a card and gift today. She's as kind and thoughtful as this note suggests. Sharing so we can all feel the positivity.

An EVH Wolfgang Stealth, whose owner lives in Eau Claire, came to me for a setup. (His left, mine right.) While in my possession he sold the guitar. Facilitating a return to him so he could ship it off was more trouble than just me packing it up and dropping it at FedEx. So that's how we did it!

Steve Cropper. A powerhouse--in the most efficient, concise way. EVERY guitarist can learn something from his playing. RIP.

Today I learned of the death of a former student, Ben Villano. At one time or another I taught guitar lessons to Ben, his wife, and his brother, and I also got to know his parents. They are GOOD PEOPLE, and I am devastated and heartbroken for them.

I just mowed my lawn on November 16th. In fact, a November mow--or two--is now commonplace. They say Minnesota is one of the fastest warming states. I believe them.

(He's in the Epstein files. He's a pedophile. He's desperately trying to save his ass, and they're trying to help him cover it up. This only ends one way, and it can happen sooner or later. There is no gray area here.)

When you root for the underdog most of the time, you're gonna be disappointed most of the time. That was a helluva Game 7, though. #Baseball #WorldSeries

Rhys (7.5 y.o.) went from knowing nothing at the beginning of the baseball season to knowing every player on the Twins AND both World Series teams, AND he knows a lot of the rules of the game. Dude is now by baseball buddy.

My friend Bob's Martin acoustic was here for a fret level, crowning, and polish. It turned out REALLY great. There's nothing so rich sounding like a solid rosewood acoustic guitar.

Nell overheard me singing vocal tracks the other night and imitated what she heard with extreme accuracy.

I'm gonna get out in front of my holiday shopping this year (for the first time ever). Do they still make these singing fish? And do you think it'd be possible to order four dozen of them?

I took two pictures and one short video. I wanted to be there for it. With my eyes. And ears. His longtime band was phenomenal. It might be the only big show I've ever seen where the artist thanked members of his crew by name. ALL THOSE SONGS. #PaulMcCartney

The PuMpKiN HaRvEsT is done! The back seven were all part of the same vine; "flatty" in the front came from the garden (because Devon thought it was a squash plant). You too can have your own surprise backyard pumpkin patch if you drop some seeds from your jack-o-lantern under your compost bin!
