As someone who has read this for the first time recently, Its very interesting what Darvill-Evans can do with the knowledge from editing the range. Also, it's a great book with an interesting setup however the villain is mediocre.
Annoyingly, I had Daak's return spoiled by the legal page

The second episode is also great bar the very Moffat flashback where the doctor changes the Cybermen’s code but I’ll let it off as this initially written to be his last episode.
Bill’s fate is sadder than her original perceived death though her ending undermines this episode.
The best of 12’s run

World enough and time: the first episode sets this up amazingly with a cool concept with the black hole and a mental start.
This is the only Cyberman story that I enjoy and they are great in the episode the conversion theatre has a creepy vibe and it is shocking to see the mid-converted patients

Eaters of light: I’ve only seen this once so maybe it deserves another chance but I remember little
about the story other than the crows being cool, the romans being annoying and the monster being rubbish. Good to see Rona Munro back but this isn’t as good as survival.

Empress of mars: this is a very fun episode and one of Gatiss’ best.
The opening is a great hook and the story, even though it is a bit predictable, manages to grab me.
the ending was a bit strange when I first watched having not understood who the alien caller was on rewatch this is a cool cameo

The third episode is better in the next time trailer than what was broadcast unmemorable and boring. should have just ended with pyramid and saved a slot for a better episode.
Overall: Each are different stories which I think works in two parters but fails here +I’ve watched pyramid standalone lots.

Extremis: the initial episode has a great mystery and a few good jokes. It even ends well saving the episode from not even happening in the timeline.
The second episode is fun, has great imagery and a great idea. The monks work best in this episode and the ending is great. Too bad it didn’t end here

The series: Series 10b was my favourite run of the modern series for a time but on a recent rewatch I quickly realised it wasn’t quite as good as I remembered.
Many of these episodes have trouble pacing wise but are good nonetheless.
Also Bill and Nardole work much better than Clara with Capaldi.
