This administration thrives on the fact that their limits only exist if people enforce them, and this extends just shit everywhere. They’ve inserted sycophants at every level, so that no one will tell them no.

Y’all need to step up.

That would be a great start, if You can *stop* it. But also consider immigration. If they can deport people without giving them a chance to demonstrate citizenship, they can (and have, and will ramp up) deport *anyone * without due process.

I was lucky to already be married when I learned all this, but for folks trying to find a romantic partner without the presumption of sex? I have a friend in that boat, and it is *brutal*

It’s also especially hard for ace-doc folks who aren’t also aro. We seem to be a particularly small subset, and it’s very hard to find spaces for us, even without taking the sapphic into account.

Yeah, I can understand that. I hear on the lack of representation in media too, and I wonder if that’s why like middle grade books so much, like Percy Jackson. They’re mostly romance-free, and what romance they do include *never* involves sex. There’s a lot less sapphic material available, though.

I mostly just stick to making sure my family is happy, and anything outside our little bubble just feels too big to tackle. Maybe someday.

I guess in my own way, my lack of belonging my whole life has left me with less desire to belong to the group, though. So I don’t really go into lesbian spaces or hang out with lesbian friends, so I suppose I can’t empathize as much with your plight as I would’ve hoped. :/

I can understand that, and I do feel that too, to a degree. I guess I’m
just … used to it. Being an undiagnosed autistic egg for 40 years, I’ve always felt like I’m wrong and broken, so it’s familiar, at least.. Still, I can acknowledge claiming the term “lesbian” feels like appropriation sometimes.

I’m in a similar boat. I learned of my ace-ness after my egg cracked, and both of them have been fundamental to my relational with my wife. I spent 25 years wrapped up in toxic masculine ideas of relationships I didn’t want, especially around sex. Now in free of all that and it’s *wonderful*.

Okay, I’m gonna need a reunion photo from Brian, Matt and Brandon

Sadly there’s a lot of drama here too :/

It feels like they’re testing the limits (if there even are any). They keep getting more aggressive, more bold, with less attempt at justification, to see whether anyone can actually stop them. They haven’t hit that wall yet, so they keep pushing to see what they can get away with.

Damn, Debbie was ahead of the curve with that selfie stick! 😂

And as others have mentioned, notice where this is coming from. Those of us in “blue” states think we have it better, but we’re also complacent and therefore complicit in a lot of these activities. But the “red” states, getting hit hardest, are putting in the work that we all should be doing.

This 👏 is 👏 intentional.

If this policy is allowed to stand, it becomes justification for this administration (or any other) to detain literally anyone, for literally anything. They don’t need to even fake a reason. Anyone who doesn’t fit the mold can be removed from society.

This is exactly what so many, both in immigration and elsewhere, have been warning about for years. Read all of this, but pay particular attention to numbers 2 and 3. ICE has orders to detain *anyone* without cause and can refuse to release them even after knowing their citizenship.

JUST IN: A U.S. citizen from Alabama who has been detained twice by ICE while working at a construction site, has filed a class action suit claiming ICE's broad warrantless arrest powers violate the constitution. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Never mind. I just looked up Dwight Schultz and now Barclay is dead to me. Damn milkshake duck.

I’ll take 20 Reginald Barclays

Then they switch sides by one of them leaning down while the other does a side flip over their back? Perfection.

Imagine hating me so much that you’d rather make millions of people miserable (and worse!) just to make sure I can’t be happy

If I feel okay about flying bye then, maybe I could too! Florida really isn’t the best idea for me…

Yes, I know there are people out there saying how cool we are, and asking for people to protect us. But those people don’t have the authority to do anything, and I don’t see them organizing any kind of significant pressure to support us.

The Ghormans were just out there doing their thing, but the powers on both sides decided that they were worth more as sacrifice for political gain than they were as living beings worthy of survival.

I’ve watched an awful lot of deep dives into Andor, its writing, the history behind its events, and how amazingly it portrays how rebellions can play out. But they all seem to glaze over the fact that *no one* was actually working to save the Ghormans but themselves. Everybody else wanted them dead.

Every time we find cis people who seem to care and want to help, they prove to be either Syril, unknowingly helping our oppressors exterminate us, Cassian, who thinks we should just keep our heads down, or Luthen, who wants to see us burn in order to convince other people to do something.
