Then, when a puzzle wants to do something more challenging, it tries to build on fundamentals that may have been missed. That can lead to a lot of frustration i think.
Maybe that's what enchants me about SSR -- everything starts out a little frustrating, so you have time to acclimate to it.

Actually, i think that that jarring uncomfortableness is important -- it forces you to sit with discomfort and uncertainty. With a puzzle game with feedback, you can spam the inputs and get the solution after some time, and continue without learning, something you can't do in paper puzzles.

I realize now that the movement-based, turn based puzzles also have that, and it's simply "moving." But something about doing that on paper is so jarring! Why?
