Arsenal, Books, Led Zeppelin. Not strictly in that order.
I’m sorry but at some point we have to call Arteta out on his team selections. We convinced Ethan to sign long term deals knowing he needs to play and likely promising him playtime. This latest selection reeks of Arteta’s usual conservatism and is simply not fair.

And this one’s entire on Arteta.

This, far more than the Liverpool performance, was disappointing. The lack of urgency in parts, and fear in others, meant that we were anemic for almost the whole of the 90 minutes. Really, really gutting to see us play this way.

I’m currently reading “Revenge of the Tipping Point” and halfway through it; I’m still having trouble figuring out why the tipping point was so hellbent on revenge. Gladwell had better be ashamed about this drivel as well..

It’s funny innit? When Arsenal try to play football and lose we have former players saying it’s “men against boys”. When we’re pragmatic, it’s “ugly”. Why even bother pretending to be a pundit- Schmeichel, Neville & Co are highly paid trolls.
Peter Schmeichel: I have never in my life ever wanted a team to win a game of football more than Liverpool today. Arsenal bring an ugly brand of football to our game.

How does this actually help Fulham? And is this the limit of accountability? In any other job, when the employee consistently makes mistakes that cost dearly, the company that is responsible would at least get sued and asked to provide some form of compensation. Where’s the restitution now?

The whole Nicholas Jackson saga brings into relief the stark contrast between a club operating in the transfer market as a business and a club using the market to strengthen, while making smart sales when possible. Chelsea have this revolving door business model which seems completely dysfunctional.

Thomas Frank is a good manager. But I think Spurs will be a bridge too far for the man #Spursy

It’s indicative of how far Arsenal have come that the CL draw against Bayern gives me no anxiety at all. Hopefully these are not famous last words..

Does the Havertz injury clear the way for Isak bid? Mmmm … I think so!

Also, that was bloody atrocious from Arsenal. No cohesion, flair, or quality from the team. Rare that almost no outfield player comes out with any credit whatsoever.

Might be worth keeping Zinchenko this season. Myles hasn’t had a great start (he’s 18 ffs) and Cala is brilliant but injury prone. Be useful to have someone who’s keen to stay and experienced at the highest level.

Straight out of a Carl Hiaasen novel
My wife shared this with me and I’m tellin you… it’s worth the read.

Gyokeres is such a unique profile for an elite striker. Strong, stocky, with a turn of pace on him. If Arsenal can adapt to his game and vice versa, he could bag at least 20+ goals this season.
