This really captures the big difference of an industry in full swing and a nascent one. While Chinese cell makers every year introduce higher C rates, lower cost, higher specific energy etc, all backed up with clear data, European cell makers remains at ”we will soon make cells”.
BYD redesigned their Blade batteries to lower the cell’s internal resistance and therefore allow for:

• 1MW charging power
• Adding 400km of range for 5min of charging

For comparison, Tesla Supercharger V4 will aim for 1.2MW, as announced back in November.

These are fantastic news. The work CARB has done over the years has shown how impactful clean air regulations can be for innovation and implementation of cleaner technologies. California will continue to lead by example.

Defending the plan to buy more EVs for USPS is the right one. On one side, a complete transition to EVs for their fleet would reduce 1.7 million metric tons of GHG emissions. In terms of business expenses for the postal office, they could potentially save +$7b USD/year on gas alone.
