a truly charming piece, the jovial curiosity is infectious and I’m a sucker for any piece with marginalia! it reminds me so much of Ponyo, the first gibli film I had ever seen as a child, very nostalgic. I think you show a great talent :o)

I’m glad it is in good hands, it’s harrowing to read about his near death experience, preceding or proceeding the creation of this piece. every piece has a story and being able to shepherd it with a safe home is a feeling unlike any other, there are so many fine works I hope to display as well :o)

this is so fascinating, I had no idea these iterations existed. this is why I love studying heritage artists, it breaks the modern conceptions pushed into us that creation should be a flat process from start to finish. that masters took years, sometimes decades perfecting their pieces is cathartic.

it’s a gorgeous piece to start, though I love most for the life it’s taken on after inception. the number of references to it in cinema, literature, and music speak highly of the cord Mr. Hopper struck with in making it, great choice, a classic really!

this has such a distinct feeling of familiarity, the rigid shape of the island with the softness of the nature cresting it is breathtaking, I was only familiar with Isle of the Dead, but am excited to explore more of his work, thank you!!

Wyeth is among my favorites as well, his pieces are so forlorn and hauntingly ephemeral. I had the pleasure of seeing his son, Jamie Wyeth’s work in person, I loved his screen door series
