On a personal note: Sharing moments of tranquility from my porch. Gazing at the azure blue sky, the wrens frolicking about in the fountain, and my beloved treasure Ginkgo 🐕. Cheers Guy

Early yet and this could change, but worth noting how impressive this police response seems to be. Just minutes between reports and police presence, warnings given before they fired.

I too am shocked that a Manchester synagogue was attacked. That two lives have been taken with three others in critical condition, tragic. These are the types of horrific incidents that happen in the US. Guy

Prime Minister Keir Starmer says additional police assets are being deployed to synagogues around the country following an attack in Manchester

Excellent article by Kate Moore. I highly recommend reading. On both sides of the pond (US here) allowing natural growth & skilled maintenance is vital for the natural habitat. I've witnessed first hand how birds and insects thrive when wild grasses are allowed to grow. Be gentle with mother earth.

Hedgerow cutting. There needs to be better education.

It will be a sad day if all the hedgerows recently planted are poorly managed - especially when there is sound advice from Nigel Adams out there
Hedgerows: the skill of balancing growth with need
As autumnal cutting starts debates arise over timing and technique. Is flailing harming wildlife and hedgerow health, or providing care?

According to the numbers, these are the 26 most vulnerable MAGA House representatives. They've spent more time defending “Dear Leader” than the Constitution, and they can be beat. We're pledging to target them all in the 2026 midterms.

Another Trump run business plan. Does he think he can just declare the US bankrupt and clear away the national debt like he's done with his own private businesses. News flash the US economy doesn't work that way. Guy

THE TRUMP ECONOMY: US private sector businesses LOST 32,000 jobs in September, far below the expected gain of 51,000, per payroll processor ADP.

August has been revised DOWN by 57,000, to -3,000.

US tax dollars being sent to stabilize Argentina who is in competition with US soybean farmers. So now subsidies will likely be given to US farmers. Bad business all around adding to our already astronomical national debt. Guy

Great post Aaron, thank you 😉. Facts matter Mike Johnson.

STEPHANOPOULOS: The Democratic proposal is designed to prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance, losing Medicaid coverage, or paying higher healthcare premiums. Why are you against that?

MIKE JOHNSON: That's an absurd statement

@rosie.com Just a quick hello Rosie to say how moved and inspired I am from the "Best People" conversation you had with Nicole Wallace. In a word, brilliant 😉. Cheers Guy

Nicely done Mike. Excellent video on Andy Burnham and rejoining the EU. 😉

Excellent video by Mike Galsworthy on Andy Burnham. Mike expresses very straightforward remarks on the importance of rejoining the EU. Thus pulling the UK out of the current economic doldrums. I highly recommend watching 😉. Guy

🔥 Well done, Andy Burnham!

Opening up the conversation within Labour. Brilliant stuff. The UK’s future is in the EU.

An important article, highly recommend reading. Starmer continues to disappoint and Reeves truly doesn't have the best interest in mind for the average Brit. She appears dismissive & down right hostile towards individual rights and environmental groups protecting the natural beauty of the UK. Guy

All tyrants fall, an inevitable outcome. What comes after is where my thoughts lay. The great American experiment failed to deliver. This will be the starting point for a new era, one I am determined to contribute to 😉. Cheers Guy

You are spot on Adam. Masculinity radiates from within & doesn't need accessories. Trump et al are presenting themselves as ludicrous puffed up tough guys and it is an offense to what true masculinity means. Being open and accepting of the beautiful differences in others is genuine masculinity. Guy

Adam is spot on. Confidence radiates from within and doesn't need any accessories. Nor does masculinity need to bully, threaten, or demean others who are different. Seeing Trump et al parade about like puffed up tough guys is so contrary to what genuine masculinity means to me. Guy

3/8: Real confidence doesn’t need to shout. It doesn’t need gold-plated buildings, fake bravado, or endless insults. It doesn’t tremble at the thought of someone else living differently.

2/8: The whole “alpha male” thing that Trump and MAGA keep selling? It’s not strength. It’s a mask for insecurity—an armor for men terrified of looking small.

Thank you Mia for the post. Baffling how a known misogynist was elected to the presidency twice. I ask myself do so many think so little of women's rights? Apparently so. Sends chills when I think of the depreciating comments regarding women that go on behind closed doors. Trump et Al have to go.

As least 24 women accuse Trump of sexual misconduct & sexual assault. He’s convicted of assaulting EJ Carrol - & must pay her $5million

Historically part of the success of Britain has been the interconnection of hamlets, villages, and cities through the railroad. On the surface rail service linking communities might seem merely picturesque but in reality railroads are the binding agent for the nation. Environmentally friendly too.

Excellent point Sybil. I perceive there is political skulduggery in play, clearly not in the best interest of the UK. These behind the scenes deals invariably end up badly for Labour. With long term detrimental effects that feed the myth that somehow people from outside are dangerous. Guy
guyanthonyayres.bsky.social
Agree Verity, Possibly Labour feels that giving this to the Conservative Party will placate them and as a concession for something that Labour wants. How naive, Labour hasn't learned from the US. You cannot make deals with the devil. Guy
guyanthonyayres.bsky.social
Agreed, I too see the same destructive pattern unfolding in the UK. It is my hope that the British people are more educated and enlightened than their American cousins. Realizing that inclusion rather than exclusion makes for a healthier and prosperous country. Cultural diversity enriches. Guy
guyanthonyayres.bsky.social
Yes Graham, a tragic irony. For all that America promoted itself as welcoming of immigrants; the reality is that it's not really open minded. Historically the Irish and the Italians had a particularly bad go of it. Toss into that the genocide and cultural destruction of the indigenous peoples.
