We preliminarily found TikTok in breach of the Digital Services Act for its addictive design.

Our investigation suggests that the platform did not properly consider how these addictive features could harm the physical and mental wellbeing of its users, including children and vulnerable adults.

More evidence from The @economist.com of the impact of the the reckless rollout of social media #monetization on the proliferation of harmful content.

It's time regulators get a hang of this and stop platforms from incentivizing -- and financing -- the abuse of their services.

Now you can opt out of the 'personalised' feed or make it chronological!

Ads must be transparent, and deceptive design is banned.

This is still really irritating me because the response to a rumor like this in 2026 shouldn’t be to write a “Users say” article. We should have the ability to audit or investigate such claims and we don’t, and that is due to failure by the United States Congress to pass basic transparency laws.
"Users say" -- I'm sorry, this is irresponsible. This seems more like infrastructure issuer than some coordinated topical block. Why is "some users think a thing" a story?

"Users express lost of trust in TikTok following ownership shift" is a different story.
