Maybe they hired Stephanie Winston Wolkoff to manage the rollout.

I was thinking the same thing. He sounded like what you would get if Foghorn Leghorn and Deputy Dawg had a baby and then deprived it of oxygen for an extended period of time.

Agreed, although understanding that there is no deep seated moral bulwark in our national DNA to protect us from a backward slide into fascism is important too. Otherwise, the idea that “it can’t happen here” could undermine the effectiveness of that opposition.

3rd option: high on his own supply?
I’m curious as to what it does to the psychological health of any group of people to live on such a mountain of twisted mythologies. Do they lose their ability to navigate the concept of what it means for something to be actually true?

Mine arrived 2 years later on the Anne!

Historically, I believe the word for this type of foreign policy tactic, derived of course from French, as these things tend to be, is: “l’Épstein.”

To take Chris’s point one step further; the media has an obligation to report the truth, and the truth is that Trump and his administration objectively lost any serious credibility a long time ago, and their reporting should make that clear whenever he is quoted.

We have consistency. Wesley Hunt said “When a federal officer gives you instructions, you abide by them and you get to keep your life.” Moving the variables around, the same equation can be stated: “You get to keep your life if you do what do what federal officers tell you.”
Make the GOP own this.

Spot on except that he’s pretending that the independence of the Justice Department is still “in question”. The Justice Department is a fully corrupted organ of the Trump Whitehouse. Tillis knows this.

3/3 …but also individuals who committed acts of murder and rape and trafficking, and drug exploitation and child exploitation.”
I don’t believe this at all, but can’t find the real data.
What are the real facts about who ICE has actually arrested in Minneapolis?
January 11, 2026 at 8:33 PM
2/3 And I think it’s important to avoid the whole Rorschach thing here. So I’m just focusing on how easy it is to tear up their credibility. I’m KN’s statement, she says “in the last two days we’ve arrested hundreds and hundreds of dangerous criminals [in Minneapolis]. Not just fraudsters…

1/3 Help me out here. I printed the post-shooting statements from McLaughlin, Noem and Trump and then closely reviewed 4 of the available videos. There’s enough undisputed info in the videos to show the statements are loaded with lies without even getting into whether or not the agent was struck.

What is it? Jesus is a voyeur, or is she having an affair and meeting her savior at some cheesy hotel? I mean seriously, he’s the son of God and he couldn’t spring for the Four Seasons?!?!? Or at least the Waldorf.
SMH…

That won’t matter to Scott Jennings though. He’ll just keep smearing those smirks, furrowed brows, and stupid head shakes over all bile he can spew as long as CNN keeps paying him. That’s the product he sells: defense of the indefensible while looking confident and sincere. He is pure emptiness.

Megyn lays out 11 words, and in those 11 words makes three assertions, each of which is patently untrue. Not a great ratio for a “journalist”.

Look; I obviously don’t know this guy, but I think, just taking this short clip as evidence, that if “learning” was HIS strong point, he’d have a different job.
January 11, 2026 at 12:42 PM
And it happens in subtle ways.
Here we have CNN reporters describing Minnesota’s need to investigate on the one hand and the Whitehouse lies and cover-up on the other as “mutual distrust”.

Doesn’t the urgency then call for, at the very least, a change in leadership among the Democrats? Isn’t it time for you and your colleagues to replace Schumer with someone who can organize a more pointed and powerful defense?
