Just now, 11 state and city lawmakers were arrested by DHS police on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza after a hour of demanding access to the ICE lock up on the same floor. @thecity.nyc

Two lawyers with the New York Legal Assistance Group have been guarding the halls of 26 Federal Plaza nearly every day since masked federal agents started staking out the hallways and arresting people showing up for immigration court.

Will add that ICE told a judge earlier this month the number of people at 26 Fed was down to 8, (public data goes through end of July) and we've seen a real slow down in the number of ICE arrests inside immigration courts in recent weeks, indicating they're likely still restricting capacity.

On Monday, federal Judge Lewis Kaplan extended a temporary restraining order that limits capacity at the ICE detention area inside 26 Federal Plaza through Sept. 9.
