tifa's greatest flaw is how little she thinks of herself, thus always worrying about whether or not she's enough. and ironically, despite showing this throughout the game more than the og did, rebirth ends up cutting what could've been the ultimate catharsis moment

it also touches on how much tifa admires aerith, implying that tifa understands if cloud likes aerith ("aerith is so much better at this sort of thing")

in the original, a major aspect of the date from tifa's perspective is trying to gauge whether cloud actually likes her or if he's just hanging out with her as a friend ("sometimes being childhood friends is hard")

as much as i adore the cloti date in rebirth (they're so awkward it's adorable), i am a bit peeved that they removed what i felt was the most important aspect of the date in the original which was tifa voicing her insecurities
