It's a great location re transit for sure. But if Pavco isn't going to share their revenue with their two anchor tenants. Not to mention, the upper bowl sits empty 350 days of the year. A massive waste of space, on very valuable land.

Or a nice 20-30k seat stadium for Lions and Caps, and then some missing middle in-fill housing, rather than SFHs. We don't need more SFHs.

Yeah, but what is that land worth? Could probably make a tidy profit selling that land off for redevelopment. Even with the money wasted on the new roof.

One major flaw in that plan is the complete lack of viable transit to/from the Hastings Park area. That said, if there were a stadium there, the Lions would likely move out of BC Place too, leaving Pavco and BC Place without anchor tenants. So glad we dropped $500M on that roof that barely opens.

"Publicly owned" is a loose term. Pavco does not like sharing any of its revenues. We should have NEVER funded a new roof for that thing, blown it up, and sold the land for the billions it's worth. #ThanksGordonCampbell
