It's a farce and the time and effort wasted by admin around the country is disgraceful. Talk of a two speed ref contradicts principles of inclusion, whole point was to create level field for research funding. It's risible

I do hope this is the last REF as rules are overly complex, being decided years into REF cycle and give few incentives to ECRs and PhD to publish as they wont be able to take pubs to new employing institution. And we now have to review pubs by retired and departed colleagues...madness!

Except where staff are forced into 'voluntary' redundancy or sign NDAs that dont allow them to state reason for leaving in response for lump sum. See also:
