They already started letting Fannie/Freddie buy MBS for their retained portfolios, which has already been moving the market, and I think this is just an expansion of the policy. It's just the same GSE-MBS spread trade that they ran at a massive scale pre-crisis. Juices earnings, speeds up the recap.

I'm slightly hopeful that the most likely outcome here is that Trump blocks the Netflix deal, Netflix pays the breakup fee, and WBD decides not to sell itself after all?

Even before Trump, most of these FBI preemptive arrests of "terrorists" were borderline entrapment where they find some hapless dopes, proposition them to do a crime that the FBI concocted, and then arrest them claiming they prevented the crime.

My optimistic/hopeful read is that Bessent is playing it so that investors have an opportunity to weigh in against both Hassett and Warsh so Waller will be the last man standing...

I've always been a firm believer in MacOS superiority but after a long time away I was definitely shocked at some things I took for granted, like ease of multiple external displays and mapping network drives

I switched to a Mac for the first time in 15+ years last week. I am finding it genuinely funny that LLM answers about how to do stuff have the sneering tone of a message board Mac guy from the 00s. Can't imagine asking it Linux questions...

Renting a Jimny in Iceland was probably peak car experience for me. Crawling up truly rugged inland roads, listening to opera on the only radio station we could sort of pick up. Loved that thing, even if the gearing made it take about a mile to reach 50mph on a normal road.

My nephew is obsessed and I find it absolutely horrifying. He's not even playing "games" really. He searches an IP, clicks into one the 1000000s of spammy things, it's totally glitched out and broken, he gets stuck in a wall, rinse, repeat. So so so so bleak.

There is an open conspiracy that spans the biggest bunch of assholes in history to get rid of THEIR top asshole. That's how bad he is. And it doesn't seem to register at all with Trump.
