In the end, nothing was decided, but the small arts groups were represented for a change.

This CAMPAC meeting is testing my energy vampire nature. The good news is that council member Carter has nominated council member Carter to be the vice chair. The motion was unanimously approved.

The post-9/11 issue was also quite cathartic.

Oh, gawd, I just saw this article:

A good six inches in Milwaukee near Lake Michigan. The lake effect pushed the snow back a bit.

The snow-clearing crew at Mitchell Field is incredible. The fleet of plows can clear the runways within a few minutes time.

There was going to be a "new" Midwest Express around 2019, but I don't think it ever was realized.

Back when I was elected, and felt obliged to maintain max politeness at all times, I relished being able to taunt the opposing goalie at Ads games. Of course the Texas Stars’ old GK now plays for the Ads, so we can’t chant:

“MURR-ay… MURR-ay… MURR-ay…

YOU SUCK!”

For once I’ll blame UW-Madison. 🤓

Alas, the Ads didn’t seem to have it working until the third. While they almost equalized shots, their one goal wasn’t enough.

I wasn’t in town when this aired, but I totally remember the big dealership and their ads in the mid-1980s.

I said to myself the other day, while looking at empty old news stands in a supermarket, “I remember ‘newspapers.’” Wrote for and ran a few myself. 😬

Frankly, this makes sense.

The Great Depression occurred during his tenure. Though Hoan was a very capable leader, and once a hero of mine, the Depression hit the city with great force. It was not pleasant here then. Also, redlining was deeply entrenched by then. I don’t know if Hoan, et al, did anything about it. Do you?

Agreed, I regularly see it here in the States. I wondered if it was just a Milwaukee thing. Your observation indicates otherwise.

You're right on all counts, yup! And enjoy the Yemeni coffee. :)
