Also, I should mention @commodoreofficial.bsky.social somewhere in this thread. Here at the end is a fine place, I suppose.

Now, if Commodore would reprint the Programmers Reference Guide, I’d be quick to buy a copy.

I have a PDF, but there’s something special about the tactile feel of the pages of a spiral bound book.

Finally, the hero takes the stage and welcomes us back to 1982. But the story doesn’t end here…

A peek (or should I say PEEK) inside shows that we can expect program listings for doing fun programming experiments.

The nostalgic journey includes a user’s guide, quite similar to the original book that came with a C64.

A look from behind with more familiar ports, but also some modern ports to the left.
January 5, 2026 at 7:22 PM
A side pose reveals a few familiar ports for joysticks, the power switch (which is multi-function), and the power port.

And now the hero of this story: The Commodore 64 Ultimate, beige edition, in all of its glory.
January 5, 2026 at 7:22 PM
The power cable along with some adapters for different countries. Important, but not terribly exciting except that it’s much more compact than the brick that came with the original C64.

Ah, but that cassette isn’t a cassette at all! It’s a cleverly disguised USB drive, presumably carrying all sorts of fun.
January 5, 2026 at 7:22 PM
To the right is a smaller box that contains…Stickers! And what appears to be a cassette called “The Very Second” (namesake, “The Very First” from the old days), another box with the power cable, and a Commodore branded HDMI cable.
January 5, 2026 at 7:22 PM
Upon opening the box we are welcomed to our digital oasis.
January 5, 2026 at 7:22 PM
The bottom of the box reveals that this is old *and* new.
January 5, 2026 at 7:22 PM
The bread bin, unboxed. A story of geeky nostalgia in 12 photos…

The box inside the box. Smaller than the original C64 box, but dripping with retro styling.

Ya know…if this were hanging above the printer, you might be able to load your choice into the printer without even taking it off the hanger. 🤔

That said, I have mine in a moisture controlled bag with a hygrometer. (Even though I live in the dry Denver climate.)
