Recently discovered that using a red headlamp makes foxes’ eyes glow bright red even when they’re well outside the beam, which is one of the freakier things you can experience during a 5:00 a.m. run — demonic, disembodied eyes in the dark

Yesterday morning on my run, I tried to find the giant trees along Onion Creek that @endlessbookshelf.bsky.social wrote about last year. Misjudged my means of ingress and wound up at Dove Springs instead, and was joined by a friendly pit mix for a mile or so on my way back
