Last night I attended the opening of a new £10 million, three-story building called St Vincent's at Loreto College Hulme. The extension includes 20 classrooms, a new lecture theatre, new labs, and a study centre. A great addition to the city's post 16 education and skills offer.

Today I visited Clayton Hall with local councillor Tom Robinson to begin a conversation with the amazing trustees about how best to start sharing the story of the building through @manclibraries.bsky.social , & what more can be done to preserve, promote & use this fabulous Mcr asset.

Wonderful to join staff, volunteers and partners at the @MancLibraries conference today. A great event highlighting the amazing work done across all 22 of the city's public libraries.

This week I visited Wythenshawe Community Housing Group to see their work as part of the MCC Economic Inactivity Trailblazer. The project provides support from community-based health & employment support services to help residents into employment.

I did my councillor advice bureau this morning. Your Chorlton Labour councillors are at the beautiful newly refurbished Chorlton library 10.30-11.30am on the first and third Saturdays of the month. No appointment needed.

Recently I visited the Volition Project bssed at Manchester Cathedral. @MCVolunteerTeam They do great work with volunteers to build pathways to work. Everything from language skills to beekeeping! A great project proudly supported by @MCCWorkSkills

Chorlton Library has a new children's reading group. It's a small supportive group where children can feel comfortable sharing thoughts on books and reading. Suitable for avid or reluctant readers. Aged 7-11, on the first Tuesday of the month, 5-6 pm. @MancLibraries

The 3 Chorlton councillors, myself, Mathew Benham and Tina Kirwin-McGinley were out listening to residents yesterday and discussing a wide range of local issues. A big thanks to the many Chorlton Labour Voice who joined us. A very positive response and plenty of casework picked up.

A £3 million #WorldHomelessnessDay funding boost for the city. This extra funding announced by the Government today will help prevent homelessness and help people who have slept rough to build new lives away from the streets.
