A few years later…
Them: Would you like some natto?
Me: いただきます! BTW do you have 大粒？Also, how about a raw egg, negi, kimchi, wasabi, and からし?
WAIT! WTF I just say?!?!?😲

Me: That’s pretty cool. It’s interesting though, there’s you, scenery, and food but you hardly talk to Japanese people. If you do, you’re making silly comments that only you would understand.
Them: But it’s a video of MY Japan.
Me: 😬

Them: Japanese people aren’t happy. I read a survey.
Me: Do you think that it’s possible that being an isolated island nation that was closed off from the rest of the word for most of it’s history that “happiness” is thought of in a very different way?

While it does give you a bit of an ego bump, if a Japanese person in Japan says you speak good Japanese, take it with a mountain of salt. 😄
