I wish newsmedia would stop putting these stories behind paywalls. They are too important, and need to be out in the open for all to see.

What peace plan? …
Oh, did you mean the surrender plan?

Well, he got one thing right: He is quite successful at stopping foreign relations.

You need the kind of language that will strip the paint off the furniture. Alas, such language is hard to come by.

I think maybe your language is too diplomatic. But to be fair, language has its shortcomings.

You may be interested to know that Alain Connes gave a new proof of Morley's theorem in 1998. It's based on a result about three elements of the group of affine transformations of the line. It's not super easy to find, though, as it's in a book from IHES.

I enjoy a glass of wine with my wife regularly, with no fees at all.
Except the cost of the wine, of course.

I am totally indifferent to baseball.
Now are you going to tell me that is yet another way to love baseball?
If so, is there any way to not love baseball?

My guess is that is what he meant. The same idea struck me almost the moment I saw the animation. Without it, it would have taken me (much?) longer.

“Never believe anything until the Kremlin denies it.”
That adage could be extended to the White House, perhaps.

That's how I learned it. But here is a reference suggesting -s's for the possesive of proper nouns. You'll have to scroll down the page a bit.

Nice, but it should be Bayes' theorem. The man was named Bayes, not Baye.
Some people might even insist on spelling it Bayes's theorem. It does have some logic to it.

And your vacation pay is actually earned in the previous year, so the first year of work, you get the vacation time but without pay.
October 24, 2025 at 12:11 PM
Yeah, that's the socialist hellhole called Norway in a nutshell. 🇳🇴😀
But eight weeks of paid vacation? That's an overstatement. It's five weeks currently (25 workdays), with an extra six days for those over 60.
Of this, you have the right to three consecutive weeks in the summer months.

In all the sites I have passkeys on (not many), the old password based login (usually with TOTP 2FA) still works. There are also recovery codes, that you should copy and keep safe where available. Finally, I like to have two passkeys, one in the macos world (icloud) and one in bitwarden.

Before you try it for real, I recommend visiting www.passkeys.io. They have a playground where you can set up and use a passkey, to make you familiar with the flow.
