Still assigning 3 plays and two novels a year to juniors. Fighting the fight even if I’m the last damn teacher. And y’know what? They appreciate them more than just snippets and excerpts because they can invest in the story. Even if it’s just investment enough to hate it, at least it’s not apathy.

They said the same thing when MA rolled out their millionaires tax and the data says they didn’t leave here. As a general rule, people don’t uproot their entire lives because the quality of life in their state IMPROVED.

The version of A Raisin in the Sun on Amazon video has one of these that drives me insane because I screen it for 3 classes a year. The cab pulls up to (~)4960 Clybourne St and the cabbie is subbed as saying “$49.60”. That’s a $500 cab ride from a family whose poverty is the entire plot!

Oh I think the commodification of the “season” is a huge negative. Thinks like the SAG awards and Critics Choice don’t need national broadcasts. They should be for insiders and Oscar stat nerds, not general consumption.
