I don't have any strong feelings about him, but I feel compelled to defend him because everyone complaining about him is being so fucking wrong about everything else

Prime 1 floated disembodied text on the screen when it wanted to teach you.
No NPC going "hey you should scan this", but when you looked at something the game wanted you to scan, it'd remind you "press D-pad left to switch to the Scan Visor".
