YES, 100%
"Most of Dem Senators did not attack Bondi yesterday as they should have. Among other things they should have said, "You're lying again, Ms. Bondi" and "That's a bald-faced lie, Ms. Bondi." The rapid rise of authoritarianism is no place for etiquette." Dr. Jack Brown

Word! My post:
"Dirty little secret about today’s hearing: Pam Bondi almost won. The Democrats, to a person, were blindsided by Bondi’s cheap theatrics and got flustered and tongue tied. Only Schiff came close to taking her on. Why is everyone so goddamned tentative? Sharpen TF up."

Jen Psaki's video clip-backed takedown of Mike Johnson's craven, weak "not my lane" defense is the best thing on @msnbc.com today. All is revealed: the Speaker's utter fecklessness and legislative impotence are fully exposed. More like this, media. Brava, @jenpsaki.msnbc.com.

What we learned today from the Bondi hearings; Tom Homan kept the $50,000 bribe and Donald Trump is in the Epstein files with half-naked women.

Thank you. I never go there, loathe to attach ageist readings to behavior of the accomplished, but I was disturbed by Durbin and company, hovering over fully composed questions (they apparently hadn't practiced aloud), stumbling. I thought, "Imagine Jon Ossoff taking on Bondi." Seriously.

Most important commentary on the coverage. The Post - my first paper as a kid - is a shadow of its former self. We didn't discontinue our subscriptions without cause.

Remember, it was the Washington Post who gave Bondi a thumbs up to be confirmed. Democracy Docket made clear from day one that she was an election denying sycophant.

No surprise at their coverage of today. Support independent, pro-democracy media today. hubs.ly/Q03M8rql0

Pritzker is right. They want to normalize troops in cities so they can steal every election just like Putin does.

The Guard arrives in Chicago. Among other issues, they seem to be, um, the target audience in Jack LaHegseth's stout-hearted men address.

It would be useful if Durbin read this as if he wrote it - and genuinely meant it. Imagine the minimum performance requirements: looking up, staring her down, volume raised for emphasis and focus, slowly but forcefully issuing the same statement with something akin to passion.

Durbin: "What has taken place since January 20, 2025, would make even President Nixon recoil. This is your legacy, AG Bondi."

5) Viewing core identity as a "culture issue," a programmed remake of society via the erasure of science, history, and knowledge itself was always the Project 2025 goal. Already embattled, we must fight harder than we ever imagined ourselves capable. The stakes couldn't be higher.

4) An America wherein anyone's innate identity is viewed as mutable by external forces: homophobic political indoctrination or antediluvian religious tenets and the hatred they unleash. Yet another reminder: 2024 was never about "kitchen table" concerns.

3) As we witnessed last week at the Quantico Burlesque, this regime won't stop at celebrating rigid gender roles - shaping progressively evolved institutions into bastions of butchness - it's hellbent on recreating a world defined by structural heterosexuality.

2) ... and enable Marcus Bachmann-styled quackery to reassert itself, tragic impact on our vulnerable children be damned. They stripped LGBTQ+ issues from the suicide hotline's targeted counseling for a reason. To alienate, disenfranchise, and we know from statistics, enable something far worse.

1) Make America 1959 again: Allow a posse of right wing zealots in black robes to exonerate "optional" medical therapies outside their expertise. To ignore a century of psychiatric scholarship, the pathologization of sexual orientation no longer allowed in diagnostics.

The nation faces military occupation of its cities, a historic descent into full authoritarian control, and the NY Times characterizes the crisis via culpability-denying, “2 states claim” and use of quotation marks around invasion. Same paper that used a full page header about Clinton’s emails.
