“Is this the world we want to hand to our children?”

Grateful to join The Karen Hunter Show today, we talked my journey (law school grad at 19), teaching US History in TX & my Star Tribune column on Trump’s proposed 50-year mortgage. Gen Z isn’t buying lifetime debt.

Some afternoons my phone feels less like a screen & more like a ledger, with bills, debt & friends losing housing. In my new @startribune.com column I write about how that quiet math is shaping Gen Z politics and who we trust with our vote.

Spent Friday at the Justice Alan Page Elimination of Bias CLE, learning from Justice Page & reconnecting with my former boss, AG Keith Ellison. Moments like this feel like justice multiplied & they remind me why my generation has to keep standing up for equity & opportunity.

After the St. Paul ICE raid, I could not let go of 2 TikToks. A young woman calling her mother. A father promising to tell his children he stood with his neighbors.

As ICE targets Somali families, I am listening to what our neighbors teach us.

This #Thanksgiving, many in #GenZ are thankful for “home” but unsure we will ever own one. A 50-year mortgage is not the answer. In my new @startribune.com column, I share how this debate sounds from our generation’s side of the table:

Today I stopped by my county office to vote. Our generation has the power to shape what comes next, but only if we show up.

Elections are happening this November. Visit mnvotes.gov for Minnesota info or Vote.org for your state.

“You’re fired” should have stayed on TV. Under President Trump it has become a painful reality for Black women, with more than 300,000 pushed out of the labor force in three months. An America that discards Black women discards its own future.
