Trying to think of something clever, but today isn't the day. Pop culture and stuff.
That one I missed in its initial run--never got around to seeing it at the video rental store in the '90s, and I had forgotten that it had actually existed until about 5-6 years ago

I have never seen this one at all. Gotta see if I can find it somewhere.

I know his widow (who managed his estate and works) wasn't a fan either. After the live-action Cat in the Hat movie, she stated that any movies going forward must be animated.

That's just a whole other level of awful.

An hour and 10 minutes before he gets anywhere near stealing Christmas.

Horrible makeup for the Grinch the Whos.

Jokes that are inappropriate for a Dr. Seuss story, or a family film in general (and I'm not a prude!)

People swear this is a good movie--it's not. Least it's not the Cat in the Hat.

Summed up in two words:

"It's complicated."

There's ONE unoffensive gag in here that I thought was funny.

I will NOT be posing any other clips from this (or any of the Censored 11/offensive) shorts anytime soon. And I'd be extremely surprised if this gets a release anytime soon from Warner Archive, disclaimer or not.

That is just WILD
December 3, 2025 at 10:34 PM
Definitely. One thing that I have always loved in those H-B directed shorts was the music. In addition to this, Scott Bradley's scores were just magnificent.

If they ever made a collection of just his music from the shorts, I'd would buy it in a heartbeat.

In honor of Wilford Brimley, this episode of We Hate Movies pays tribute to him by reviewing Hard Target.

(REALLY funny episode altogether, but you can skip to the 54:28 mark to hear the greatness).

I think he came out the womb looking like that--WITH the mustache

In the same boat. And there's a distribution center near where I live! Rat bastards

That was a REALLY cool aspect from that film, especially during a time where most female roles in 80s action films were either a love interest, or simple kidnap bait.
December 3, 2025 at 5:57 PM
That score was WILD--steel drums has no place in an action film, but once the sax kicked in, it was like, "What's the hell?!"

It was so bizarre, but it worked...?!

Once Predator hit--there was no going back for him.
December 3, 2025 at 5:39 PM
It was a weird time in his filmography--Terminator was a massive surprise hit, but his follow-ups felt like B-movie fare. Red Sonja was forgettable, Commando was WAY better than it had any right to be, and Raw DEAL is an oddity--it felt like it was meant for a serious actor, not for Arnold.
December 3, 2025 at 5:38 PM
Commando was an insane action film that feels like a Cannon film, but was made by a major studio. You'd almost swear that it made by Golan-Globus (but there was NO way they could afford Arnold's salary, or a fraction of the budget for his films).

He was the only person who could get away with that because he COULD.

Wilford Brimley was the HARDEST MF'ing senior alive.

If you didn't eat your oatmeal, this was the result:
