Have you ever used it for sandwiches!?! (and which sandwich did it point you to, please!)

Gentle request to refrain from naming and shaming the work of grad students on social media, where it has the potential to be amplified, decontextualized, and piled-on. I understand why you dislike this project, but the student is getting a lot of hate here.

It's an easy mistake to make when you operate in a world where you are led to believe you have no power and grad students are burden. But even so. We have to do better.

I know because I have been on both sides of this! I have been the grad student who a tenured professor publicly shamed. (It felt bad, I'm upset about it ten years later.)

And I have been the mid-career professional who understimated the power I had over students in my care.

Someone should really write like... professor power analysis 101. It could explain that when you have power over someone's future you also have an obligation of care.

And that's true even if you are tortured by insecurity and believe in your heart that you are an underdog.

I wish I had been able to give myself more grace and hope I can pass that to you.

Sending strength. I felt the same way as a researcher. It was one of the hardest parts for me. For what it's worth, your research areas seem timely and important.
