I gave Claire Saffitz's "dirt bombs" recipe a try this evening. Warm cakes dunked in butter before being rolled in cinnamon sugar are about as decadent as you might imagine. 🧁🍽️

Played around with the usual milk bread recipe by adding cocoa and chocolate chips. The results are pretty good! I might try a chunky chocolate centre next time for more oomph. 🧁🍽️

I've made a dangerous discovery - Brazilian lemonade. A whole lemon (topped, tailed and deseeded) blended with sugar, water and condensed milk, served over ice.

It works surprisingly well!

Seen the 3/5 Guardian review? Farts were well and truly huffed.
"The only problem with this stuff is that you can’t help picturing how much more spectacular it would look in live action. The animation is all perfectly competent but it’s lacking a little something – that spark of life and ingenuity that can make even flawed animation so fascinating. There’s something quite slick about all this, almost to a fault. Was AI involved? We’ll probably never know, but it’s a problem that the suspicion has got inside the door."

Pastry practice is underway and going well. James Morton's sweet shortcrust recipe (used for these jam tarts) easily trounces Paul Hollywood's, which I found to be a little too savoury. 🧁🍽️
