Hes like prolific in the way where theres something just clearly different abt his brain. The way he changes focus resolution color and flow to mesh w the tone of the page. The fluid hops between slapstick and philosophic. I want to chew off my own arm.

No humboldt to be found in this exhibit which was a little baffling but they had a whole area dedicated to maria sibilla merian, a perturnaturally gifted early entomologist and botanist + nature illustrator from the 17th century who preceded him in genius/ curiosity/colonial complicity
