Londoner in LA. Story and directing - mainly animation. Arsenal fan. I like riding my bike(s).
Yeah I thought this - had 3 or 4 years into Sophitia way back when. My son destroyed me multiple times on his first time playing .

Counter attacking deep block has solved football (pejorative)

Definitely feel like the physical and mental intensity required and demanded to actually score a goal (all those patterns to run!) means when we actually do the players invariably take a breather.

If your takeaway going 8-0 in the CL league phase and getting Kai and Ricci back is we’re in a death spiral maybe being a footy fan ain’t for you?

Absolute banger James, and some great perspective
January 28, 2026 at 11:44 PM
I wonder if the physical and mental exertion and intensity needed to actually get a goal in the arteta style invariably leads to a drop off once we’ve got it!

The system change “everyone”seems to want is play risky through balls into an outnumbered central area but never lose the ball?
January 26, 2026 at 3:55 PM
Unfortunately I think that’s more down to Saka and Ø having a dip. Our bench is better but yeah, it’s not doing it.
January 26, 2026 at 2:32 AM
Sterling was our main attacking sub last season
January 26, 2026 at 1:57 AM
Do you think that level
Of intensity, that arteta clearly demands, is just not mentally or physically sustainable over 90?

Elle Fanning’s rehearsal scene goes straight to the top of the table (next to Naomi watts in mulholland drive) in the good acting but it’s bad acting but it’s really good acting pantheon. She was doing some high wire stuff in the movie for sure
January 22, 2026 at 5:59 PM
Er, they’re all great movies. The haters are all wrong

Not sure what the option is when we face a deep block every week, even from the likes of Liverpool and city. If there was a line breaking central pass open all the time pretty sure we’d find it.
January 19, 2026 at 4:12 PM
Ha yeah totally! Can’t imagine how hard it must be to shield themselves from all the noise and parasitic content.
January 18, 2026 at 7:04 PM
But I’d have taken merino starting up front yesterday!
January 18, 2026 at 6:57 PM
I do think VG is actually a liability at this point and makes us poorer. I think Kai coming back might be what kicks us up a gear in attack
January 18, 2026 at 6:56 PM
Forest were fresh and up for it and a low/mid block is hard to crack. Should point out they had zero shots on target. We had chances didn’t take em.
January 18, 2026 at 6:55 PM
I’ll bite. Not much? It’s up to the players at some point. We demand rotation then moan when we get it. If we’d gone weak at Stamford bridge and lost semi fans would have melted down. But that game took it out of us.
January 18, 2026 at 6:55 PM
Tops got weaker but mainly middle has got stronger. And no ones really figured out how to play exciting football against a low/mid block.

Everton has entered the chat

Our fan base is never beating the accusations 😂
January 18, 2026 at 4:00 PM
Feel like it’s an online phenomenon. Stupid people making stupid comments is sort of the whole internet. But man, the arsenal discourse is pretty tiresome and untethered from reality.
January 18, 2026 at 6:53 AM
Yeah the general response from our fan base is so tiresome. Frustrating performance and result sure, but now Saka is shit,Ø is washed, Martinelli should be sold. 🙄
January 18, 2026 at 6:49 AM
Feel like they did a pool and dropped 6 into midfield and man marked. Game gets slow cos there’s no one open to pass to!
