Why is it so hard to find the actual budget in the budget?

A terrorist targeted federal workers last week. There wasn’t much reporting on it. But I’m not finished thinking about it! 🧵

An anti-vaxxer fired more than 500 gunshots into CDC Atlanta, shattering 150 “blast-proof” windows on 6 buildings. Employees were pinned down in terror.

I have just learned about Anna’s Archive. It seems to be the Napster of textbooks. I have just alerted my publisher, who was unaware of it. Authors may want to see if their books are there and similarly inform their publishers.

My old roommate from grad school was waiting for the Elon Musk scandal so he could break out Elongate! His moment has arrived!

Great typo in an essay I was grading today: the Thrown Speech! I will have to remember that one next time we get a real stinker 😂

I drove across BC today and the price of gas varied by more than 40 cents, from $1.75 in Abbotsford to $1.33 in Sorrento. I have never seen such a huge variation in price. Maybe it is legitimate or maybe it’s related to the repeal of the carbon tax 🤷‍♂️

I just had some students stop me on campus and ask how to get to G-Building. I said that’s the library. And they said, where’s that? So I said Tim Hortons and they knew exactly where to go 🤦‍♂️

I stopped drinking five years ago for a variety of health reasons. The biggest reward? My 18 year old son thanked me last night for not drinking. He says he has no desire to drink (or do drugs) even though he is surrounded by it living in staff housing at a BC ski resort 😊

I finished rewatching The Americans last night. I loved it the first time on tv, but so much better streaming it. Much easier to remember the complex plot lines. A must watch for anyone who enjoys a good espionage story. Also made me nostalgic for the relative simplicity of the Cold War!

I have lost two dear friends this month. My colleague Dr. Amy Prevost was 46. And my former student Dan Coulter was 49. They were not with us for long, but they left an indelible mark on everyone who knew them. They will be deeply missed. Life is so precious. Please hug your loved ones.
