This is an opinion I had at 17, and then slowly realised that Hunger Games has slightly more depth than "what if a bunch of teenagers killed each other", and both have stories and themes beyond the slaughter. It's disappointing to see a grown adult have this opinion

My grandmother used to add a spoonful of sugar to the peas. No one else did.
The first year she hosted but not cooked, the oldest added a spoonful of sugar “for granny.” So did the youngest. And middle. And their partners. And the grandchilden. AND GRANNY.
