Founded in 1962, Hammersmith Chess Club is the largest & most welcoming club in Greater London. We play in the London, Central London, Middlesex and Thames Valley Leagues. All levels and ages are welcome to visit us at the London Mindsports centre, W6 0JD

Hammer 1 is currently leading the Middlesex League, but tonight we face the strong West London who might bring some titled players!

On Thursday, our Women's team started their London League campaign to defend last year's title, against our newly formed 2nd team, who gave them quite a scare!

The match was quite close and it could have gone either way, hope all the players enjoyed their games

Tonight we start our 2025/26 League Season with three internal matches and a total of 30 Hammers! We even have some extra rated games on the side since demand was so high.

We had a lecture about Forks with Gastón 🇦🇷, and a visit from GM Frode Urkedal 🇳🇴 who showed one of his games from the MindSports Swiss tournament

We also displayed our Club of the Year award from the ECF!

I sat next to David Navara at the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Teams closing ceremony.

He was very kind, greeting me in my native language simply by having read my name on my badge. And he congratulated me and my @hammerchess.bsky.social team on the prizes we won
