I like puns and trains because I enjoy things that move me. Pronouns are He/Him/His
What is particularly frustrating to me about party politics in the U.S. is that our actual party enforcement mechanisms are pretty weak, aren't they? But people act like people in official leadership positions have more power than they really do.

It feels like the worst of both worlds.

And look what their framing makes us defend! None of us are out here saying that the atomic bombs were humane weapons. Truman’s first act as a president with nuclear weapons was to take them out of the direct control of the military, mostly because he was disturbed by the bombs!

it’s so weird how people address Americans regarding military action. It’s always the individual who they’re talking to who personally pulled the trigger, or dropped the atomic bomb, or carried out the Mai Lai massacre. Do these people have lists of grievances they hold against every citizen?

Try Episcopalianism!

There are people who developed a mindset towards transit on that Facebook group “New Urbanist Memes for Transit-Oriented Teens” and never grew out of it.

I once had a PSL member try to get me involved with their org and we ended up talking about FDR, because PSL swears that the Second Bill of Rights included the forced enslavement of American workers.

I learned even people on the left will weaponize ignorance to achieve their goals. Felt icky.

The most infuriating thing about all of this is how many people are never going to admit they voted for Trump in ‘24 or didn’t vote at all.

Like I was also a Republican-leaning kid in middle school but that was before 1. I learned who Richard Nixon was and 2. I never called myself a Reagan Republican because it was like 2011!

Saying that the Allies were not opposed to fascism, “just” attacks on their citizens and sovereignty is one of those things that sounds good in your head until you say it out loud.

It’s a type of narcissism that impedes. Even if the majority of people in the U.S. lives in “urban areas” it’s important to actually look at a map and see what constitutes an “urban area.” If you’re not specific, it can mean a lot of different things!

There are people who think that righteous indignation is a “win” button for every belief.

Ask yourself: why is YOUR belief worth more than mine? Are you special?

But that would require a level of self awareness that I cannot teach people.

“The U.S. is unfixable! That’s why I will behave like a normal American but more virtuously because I acknowledge I’m doing terrible things, and that means it’s okay!”

Don’t worry; I don’t like suburbia and don’t live there for a reason.

Sometimes people think so little of others that they cannot imagine that other people's preferences are genuine.

Yes it's illegal to build certain types of housing in many parts of the U.S. That is partially a result of a lot of things, but a lot of Americans legitimately like living that way.

It’s not naive to really believe in “great power…” right?
November 13, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Yeah at the end of the day no one makes games like Bethesda does. Sure Cyberpunk and the Witcher series are very good, but I like my big open worlds with silent protagonists and a little subtler edge.

Why is Klippenstein suggesting that a future Progressive behave like a bully and pedophile?

Really dodging the “asshole” allegations. Have a good one!

Thanks for insulting my intelligence! Glad you’re one of the good ones.

You’ve got a moment where he’s been abusive, right? I just would like to see it for myself.
November 12, 2025 at 4:27 PM
If Stancil bullies people then he should apologize and be better. Frankly, though, he seems to suffer more abuse rather than dishing it out.

When I was around 12, I posted my first YouTube video and a bunch of Canadian teenagers trolled me for years. Told me my stuff was awful, I should kill myself, etc.

I am 27 and realized this year how that stuff still affects my self-esteem. Anyone telling Will to “get over it” is being an asshole.

If people are worried about the optics of Dems not saving healthcare subsides, wait until they see what Republicans did to ACA subsidies in the OBBB.

And their owner is very clearly invested in his partner’s congressional race, which, though sweet, can easily be spun in a negative way. But of course that would be impolite because he’s the owner of the Onion! Not the owner of a multimedia empire! /s

And now the government is reopening and Trump is still on the hook for SNAP. That seems good.
