Oh, ahaha. Yes, the small fact that the entirety of training data is and was stolen? I agree with you. It's terrible, and the technopolists somehow got a judge to say it's fine and that progress matters more.
I really hope that the creative world manages to defend itself against this theft.

Thanks for reading it, Yves!

Yeah, there are certainly ethical arguments to be made, but I wanted to focus on the use.
If you're curious about my opinion, I think it's largely unethical due to environmental and scapegoating concerns.

Did you have something else in mind?

I have not written in many languages. JavaScript (TS), Python, and the far majority in Go. I have some Rust exposure too.

Again I don't think I dislike the language as much as how I see much of it written and the tooling.

No, specifically, tsserver, the LSP. I'm used to having a more fully featured LSP server. I think this is the crux of my disappointment.

I am hopeful the Go rewrite of the compiler will open more doors for tsserver. I believe I read there are plans to port tsserver as well as augment it?

TS implementation and syntax don't bother me (I don't love it either) but I think my biggest pain points are around tooling. I think in most cases we should just stick to untyped js or use a language that was built typed from the start.

Damn, wish I was more online so I could've nabbed one. Very cool!

I hope he can keep it up live. Last time I saw them his voice was definitely tired towards the end. Could've been sick, who knows.
I haven't listened yet so this is great to hear that y'all like it.
