Composer of opera, orchestral and chamber music, choral music and art song. Recently became a grandfather. Lover of visual art, poetry, and beautiful code.
I like your phrase 'a traditional sense of harmonic language.' I wouldn't call my use of functional harmony 'traditional' because I mix in octatonic, pandiatonic, modal, and 'other harmony' (see the book of that name by Tom Johnson). But in the mazurkas the 'traditional sense' is strong.

My models come more from the art world than from music. I'll mention Sigmar Polke and Gerhard Richter as art magpies. I don't like a lot of their art, btw! Stravinsky, of course. I know serial methods and use them sometimes. Functional harmony carries more meaning and has more possibilities

My approach is pluralistic. I don't claim to be anything but a magpie, I steal shiny bits and build them into my nest. I consider all music to be genre music, and I don't believe in high-low class distinctions. I don't care about consistency or being impressive or even respectable.

Marty, I only have Sibelius export audio files, but you can hear those if you wish (senza rubato): drive.google.com/drive/folder...
