"If those were Al Qaeda or ISIS with enough drugs or ammunition..."
To answer her question: No. I would not expect them to be blown up like that in similar situations. We have lots of experience with interdiction in those areas. They weren't an IMMINENT threat to anyone or in danger of escaping.

There is no source, it didn't happen. It's an exaggeration of his response offering to testify in a public hearing rather than in secret

I hate that I know what you're referencing without you having to say it. And thank you for not saying it.

The only context the comic gives is comparing to a regular bike. Folks are addressing that by talking about how people are able to get out on a bike because electric assist is enough to let them actually ride.
Removing a battery from a bike designed around having one one doesn't suggest anything.

If only there was an entity that could set those tariffs... like a congress or something, that could make legislation that the president would then execute faithfully.

Oh man, I haven't thought about this movie in ages. Yeah, not a particularly complex movie, but it does what it set out to do well. I remember enjoying in several times

Check out "Off to Be the Wizard" by Scott Meyer.

We don't even know this was nullification. The main damage alleged was a stain on a shirt, but they didn't provide pictures of it in evidence.
So no evidence of harm makes it hard to convict on a charge that rests on harm being done.

I'm concerned... I have recommended you books and I desperately don't want to be governor of anything.

Does that include tip?

Most of congress is rich enough to not have to worry about paychecks, so this wouldn't resolve the problem fundemantally.

And there may be a disparity in the number of poorer reps, so you may actually price out folks, artificially skewing votes towards one side or the other.

Seems like a bad idea

So... if you don't the video and haven't looked into it, then how do you know he did nothing wrong?

Meh, we are old. Who cares. lol. (punctuated for aggressiveness)

From nationalzoo.si.edu/news/governm...

"All the animals at the Zoo and at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Virginia, will continue to be fed and cared for. A shutdown will not affect our commitment to the safety of our staff and standard of excellence in animal care."

Also remember that in the past Trump himself said the president is responsible for shutdowns! And he himself told his party not to bother negotiating.

I can make out Raphael and Michelangelo. But Leonardo and Donatello need to step up their game. One is missing, and the other forgot their tie.

She defended it by saying she was joking. She should be able to joke, just like Democrats make jokes.

So my question is... does anyone have an example of a Democrat making a similar kind of joke about causing harm to those they're directly in power over, and being given a pass?

www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

I see "don't treat 24 year olds as youths", which seems reasonable. And taking away discretion, which is bad, sure. But neither of those are what was I saw being talked about in relation to Trump.

Which part of this is promoting the occupation?

Aren't electricity prices rising across the whole country though?

Maybe we're rising faster (I don't know), but I doubt it's as simple as this.

Not listing the recipe in the post was pretty awkward. I don't feel like subscribing to another site just to see it after having read through one article looking for it already. Looked tasty though

I wasn't trying to dismiss anything. But if soldiers are out there telling kids they're going to get deported, that deserves a bit of a different reaction than what their presence alone is causing.
August 29, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Where did those rumors come from? Kids are more than capable of coming up with that sort of thing on their own.

If I understand it, they didn't so much as "draw a map" (as in make an actual map that will go into play) as they did "draw a proposed map to have voters vote on".

And letting the voters choose to change how the voters want to select maps seems like a reasonable thing.
