finished this one yesterday, my first finished book since the start of covid. grabbed it on Saturday and really just couldn't put it down. Grann does a great job of synthesizing the conflicting accounts to present a compelling narrative that doesn't damn or absolve anyone. and that ending... wow

made a deep run at today's Store Treasure Cup and finished 6th at our 32 cap event playing Vegapunk! dodged my worst matchups, lost one game to a nasty trigger, and then won the next game on an even nastier trigger. now that I've T8ed two Treasure Cups, I think the goal is to win the next one

small crowd this week, makes sense since prereleases are starting soon and new set comes out next Friday. still a strong showing with a new deck, I think it's a ton of fun to play and want to keep it in my back pocket for the foreseeable future

decent showing at locals this week! Kuzan feels good into a variety of decks, and I felt like I could've won R1 if I played it differently. rounds 2 & 3 were both against first time players so we treated them more like teaching games. excited to hopefully try out something new next week!
