I read books and write about them on my blog

https://hannareadings.wordpress.com/
The story moves at a very fast pace, but for me this often came at the expense of tension and realism. Challenges are resolved quickly, allies are immediately helpful, and enemies are hostile from the moment they appear, which makes events feel a bit too easy and predictable.
The King of Light the Order of the Dark Gods by Federico Carro | Book review
One of the main issues I had with the book is how easily things unfold for the characters. Allies are friendly and supportive from the very first moment they appear, while enemies are immediately hostile without much buildup or motivation. This clear-cut dynamic makes the story feel predictable and lowers the overall tension. The pacing is very fast, sometimes to the story’s detriment.

Today, I am convinced that most of us not only do not rest enough, but also do not know how to relax at all. That is why I am confident that this book is a wonderful gift for ourselves and the people we care about.

Today, I am convinced that most of us not only do not rest enough, but also do not know how to relax at all. Beautiful and equally disturbing story of Vanessa Wye is one of the well-written things I read this year.

Autumn came, and the blog quietly paused. The reading rhythm stayed with me, but writing slipped through the cracks. Books kept piling up without words to match them. With this post, I’m finding my way back and hoping to return to a steadier rhythm again.
Reviewing Slump and Autumn Silence
With the onset of autumn, the blog fell silent. The steady rhythm of reading books and writing reviews, established in the summer, fell apart. I didn't stop reading, but I kept putting off writing about books, so with this post, I want to get closer to my previous rhythm. After the historical novel about brave Irish women, The Women on Platform Two…

Buddha’s Brain is about how meditation can actually change your brain and help you suffer less. Great combination of modern scientific knowledge and thousands of years of Buddhism tradition.
Buddha’s Brain by Rick Hanson | Book Review
Buddha’s Brain brings together well-known insights about neuroplasticity and the power of meditation, weaving them into a practical and compassionate guide for how we can use our minds to reduce suffering and increase well-being. One of my favourite messages in the book is: “the neurons that fire together, wire together.” Our brains are constantly shaped by our experiences and attention, and through meditation and mindfulness, we can train ourselves toward greater resilience, peace, and joy.

This book is for readers who enjoy character-driven stories about love, loss, and regrets. The series is flexible, you can start with any book without losing context. While it’s slower-paced, the emotional payoff is well worth it.
Before We Forget Kindness by Toshikazu Kawaguchi | Book Review
Before We Forget Kindness is the fifth book in the Before the Coffee Gets Cold series. At the mysterious café, a singular rule governs time travel: from the moment the coffee is poured until it turns lukewarm, anyone can journey to any moment in time they wish. But this gift comes with a cost. The book contains four short stories: …

Lights Out by Navessa Allen | Book Review
I picked up this book because of all the online chatter around it for a while. I remember the title before the book was even published. Lights Out is a dark, stalker romance with many comedy elements. The story features two main characters, Aly and Josh, but primarily revolves around Aly. She works as a trauma nurse, and scrolling through the TikTok thirst traps is her way of decompressing after a difficult shift.
