Had fun spotting some wildflowers in Malham Tarn bog this week. Not the best photos, but the best I could do from the boardwalk and with two pesky children hurrying me along! I was very happy to have spotted the tiny round-leaved sundew. #wildflowerhour #orchidchallenge

Last week I visited a wonderful independently owned coppice woodland. Third photo shows their award-winning 'dead-hedging' that keeps the deer off the young hazel growth, but naturally degrades just as the hazel is old enough to withstand the nibbling! Very clever stuff!

A beautiful day for a spot of volunteer work in this special spot in Northamptonshire. We were laying some Blackthorn to get some fresh growth for the Black hairstreak butterfly in Glapthorn Cow Pastures.
