have you read Sam Cohen’s Exorcism or Eating My Twin? It explores a situation where one person craves a mirror and one person only wants it as an intellectual exercise - I love this short story so much

Adding to your point, I saw Gnarly on some year end lists and that has an Alice Longyu Gao co-write! (But Katseye in general is weird)

one thing about Dove Ellis and Cameron Winter is that they go all the way back to old-fashioned pop songwriting, but Ellis is more classical

if anything he reminds me of XO-era Elliott Smith and I always like when people take after that

there's a band I loved during lockdown that made very similar music to this kind of post-britpop revival but they broke up earlier this year

they're more to the operatic Florence-y side of the spectrum but they would have found their audience if they started now
