Hello everyone! A little introduction to myself 🙋🏼‍♀️

I am from the UK originally 🇬🇧 but have spent time in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 doing my masters and am now a second year PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel 🇧🇪
Photo of myself. I am white, have blonde mid-length hair, blue eyes and am smiling with my hand on my chin. I am wearing a white fluffy jumper sat at a brown table with a white background and green plant to my left.

The mobility patterns of the population of Gallo-Roman Tienen (Belgium) are keeping you up at night? Wondering if there is more than mobility reflected in these 87Sr/86Sr results? This is very relatable, and conveniently, I have the right paper for you! It's accessible right there 👇

📢 New paper alert! 📢

I’m really happy to share our latest publication in AJBA! We explore how sampling cremated petrous parts & teeth helps reconstruct life histories and cremation practices 🔥. You can find our paper through this link: doi.org/10.1002/ajpa... (1/6)
Reconstructing Life Histories: New Insights Into Cremation Practices, Mobility, and Food Consumption Patterns Through Isotope and Infrared Analyses of Petrous Parts and Teeth

On #EarthDay we post about loving our planet while VU Amsterdam cuts its Earth Sciences department. Dismissing 42 earth scientists reveals the gap between stated values and actual priorities. What we fund is what we truly value #RedAardwetenschappen (Image by @thelittlebluedood.bsky.social)
The image shows a simple blue line drawing on a white textured background. There's a figure of a person pointing at a rectangular sign or board that contains text. The text on the board reads: "DO UNTO THE EARTH AS YOU WANT DONE UNTO THE EARTH" - a environmental take on the golden rule. The drawing has a handmade, sketch-like quality with the person and message rendered in blue ink.

📞 Ypres calling! Special delivery📦🚚

Barbara, Martijn, and Charlotte visited the BAAC depot last Friday and collected the first batch of skeletons from the Sint-Maarten parish in Ypres🦴

But who were these medieval city-dwellers, and where did they come from..?🧪💀

Like for part 2?🤔

So excited to share our accepted manuscript! It sets up a dicot phytolith baseline for NW Europe.

Phytolith researchers working on reference materials know how time-consuming this type of work is 🥵, I hope it will be useful to many.

Happy reading soon and feel free to reach out!
