To celebrate National Ocean Month, I recall a conversation with Kaleo Wong, navigator for the Hokule'a. The Hawaiian sailing canoe travels the Pacific to teach young Hawaiians how to sail and navigate using traditional methods, and inspires broad respect and restoration of ancestral ocean knowledge.
