Wikipedia says his biographer Philip Nel looked into that and it seems clear that he was designed at a minimum to not be white, but tan, and given Johnson's history of antiracism this was very likely very intentional to allow children of any color to see themselves in Harold!

This tends to result in large quantities of AI "art" (see Facebook feeds for example). This is being metaphorically compared to processed meat/pig food/etc as low quality, abundant, and undesirable, by calling it "slop".

AI slop is a term coined to describe what happens when certain models create output. The output is based on what is probable given what was input and what it has already output. This makes it feel generic. Also it is often sloppy about details, and the effort to create is low on the user.
