Still addicted to the Revolutions podcast. I’ve just finished listening to my 4th revolution (English, American, French & Haitian). Humans do truly horrendous things to each other when civilisation goes to hell. I really don’t think we are that far evolved, just a bad year from murderous chaos.

@daraobriain.bsky.social Wow, we just left your show in Eastbourne. You are an amazing story teller and you had us on the edge of our seats. Great show, but also I want to give you a massive hug for going on that journey. Thanks for sharing Dara. Just Wowzers xxxx

The thing with being obsessed with podcasts, listening chronologically, is when I get a new show, I listen to all the backlog before falling back into my regular timeline - OCDish behaviour. I have discovered “Revolutions” podcast. Now fascinated by English Civil war and American original colonies

Just done a long car journey which gave us the chance to listen to the fascinating podcast “We Have Ways of Making You Talk” and some of their mini-series on D-Day. Really well done Al Murray and James Holland #wehavewaysofmakingyoutalk

I'd like to bring this video to your attention.

It's doing pretty significant numbers for what it is, so while I understand sharing it won't make a difference for those knee-deep in the cult of personality, I'd say it has a better-than-average chance of resonating.

Read Amanda Grange’s Mr Darcy’s Diary in 2 days - to be clear, Elizabeth’s Mr Darcy, not Bridget’s Mr Darcy. Haven’t lost myself in a book that intensely for a while. Would have slowed down the family bits at the end, but otherwise a book I was reluctant to put down and sad to finish

Just finished reading “The Colour of Time” by Dan Jones and Marina Amaral. Fascinating worldwide walkthrough the historical context behind recolourised photos, making linkages between events as I had never read before, through daily life and drama 1850-1960. Really worth it if you can get it.

Hi Bluesky. I tend to post about history and my podcast listening. I am way way way behind chronologically, so currently at the crazy days of April 2020. Maybe you get nostalgic, maybe you roll you eyes…
