Couple of hours at Lytchett Fields eventually produced the goods. Three Spotted Redshank- the first I have seen for 11 days - and pretty much my favourite regulars (and always great to show visitors!).

...also on the ringing front: we've received notification of a fantastic recovery of a Firecrest ringed here last October that was controlled a few days ago by a ringer in the Czech Republic - the first movement of a UK-ringed Firecrest to the Czech Republic or indeed to anywhere in central Europe

A gorgeous start to the day and good to see 94 spoonies back on the lagoon after yesterday's kite surfer disruption 😍 #WildBrownsea @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social

The Little Stint stayed at long distance today at Lytchett Fields RSPB, but some decent light and close birds offered a couple of nice photo opportunities

So many geese seen coming into or feeding in Swineham yesterday evening/this morning. Great to see more pools around for them to dabble in. Such a gorgeous sunset, too!

What a proliferation of avocets seen in the Middlebere channel at RSPB Arne! They were both beautiful and fascinating to watch! There were several groups feeding like this.

Gutting to see our regular group of 100+ spoonbill have all been flushed by kite surfers out of bounds in the harbour this afternoon and haven't returned. Really hoping they decide to come back tomorrow #WildBrownsea @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social
