What a proliferation of avocets seen in the Middlebere channel at RSPB Arne! They were both beautiful and fascinating to watch! There were several groups feeding like this.

Other Swineham sightings included a common sandpiper, a pair of godwits, a snipe, an impressive sika stag, a ruff (I think), a marsh harrier, and a buzzard.

So many geese seen coming into or feeding in Swineham yesterday evening/this morning. Great to see more pools around for them to dabble in. Such a gorgeous sunset, too!

A Dartford Warbler and a tiny baby adder were seen at Coombe Heath, RSPB Arne earlier today, along with a brown adult and baby lizard (common?). Thanks to my great friend, who is a raptor specialist, who also showed me a distant goshawk.

Osprey seen perched on a tree from Lychett fields path. It headed off to Lychett bay, caught a fish, and then headed back over Sherford Pools, then disappeared off in a North Westerly direction. My first Dorset osprey of the year!

That's wonderful to learn that our wild fledgling G625 has been in the harbour!

Finally, after many trips to Poole Harbour over several months, we found an eagle soaring on thermals high above RSPB Arne on Saturday! Video not great due to distance and briefness of encounter but it was lovely to see! Not sure if it was adult or juvenile.
