If your students are learning about check try the Three-check game.

The winner is the 1st to check their opponent’s king 3 times.

This variant is all about attacking.
Students practise moves & captures whilst trying to win.

Technology is banned in chess matches but players can still use it when they train.

We should copy this in education. Banning tech in exams will promote better use of it in the classroom.
